We were taught how to pass exams… not how to handle life

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently, especially after stepping into real-world situations. We spend so many years studying, preparing for exams, trying to do everything right. And for the most part, we follow the system exactly how it’s designed. But when it comes to actual life decisions — career choices, handling pressure, dealing with uncertainty — it still feels like we’re figuring things out from scratch. No one really teaches you how to deal with failure properly. Or how to manage stress when things don’t go as planned. Even things like making decisions with incomplete information… we’re just expected to learn that on our own. It’s not that education isn’t important. It definitely is. But there’s a gap between what we learn and what we actually need. And you only really notice it when you’re in situations where there’s no clear “right answer.” I don’t know if this is something everyone goes through, or if it’s just something we don’t talk about enough. Did anyone else feel unprepared in ways they didn’t expect?
