HearMeo Privacy

Privacy Policy

HearMeo is built for emotional expression, anonymous sharing, and community support. That means privacy is not just a legal page for us — it is part of the product design. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Safety-first privacy model

HearMeo allows people to post anonymously in supported flows, while still retaining limited private accountability information in the backend where needed for safety, moderation, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.

Anonymous does not mean public identity exposure

When a guest or member posts anonymously, other users do not see that person’s real identity in the public thread. Anonymous visibility is part of the user experience. Internal identity records are used only for restricted operational purposes.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When users create an account, HearMeo may collect details such as display name, username, email address, phone number, profile information, and account credentials.

Guest posting information

In anonymous guest flows, HearMeo may collect name, email, and phone number privately in order to support moderation, abuse handling, account recovery or future claim flows, and trust and safety operations.

Content you create

We collect posts, replies, status updates, reactions, comments, topic memberships, saved items, reports, moderation events, and media you upload.

Usage and security information

HearMeo may collect technical and operational information such as timestamps, device and browser metadata, IP-related security signals, rate-limit data, and logs needed to protect the platform and investigate misuse.

2. How we use information

Community experience

To create accounts, publish content, power profiles, enable follows, support topics, show feeds, and help people connect in communities.

Moderation and safety

To detect abuse, investigate reports, enforce community rules, handle anonymous misuse, review escalations, and protect users and the platform.

Platform operations

To maintain infrastructure, improve reliability, debug issues, monitor performance, and secure the product experience.

Compliance and legal obligations

To respond where required to lawful requests, safety investigations, platform abuse, and other compliance obligations.

3. Identity handling for anonymous content

HearMeo supports anonymous expression because emotional safety matters. However, anonymous content is not treated as unaccountable content behind the scenes.

In supported anonymous flows, the platform may retain private identity-linked records such as guest identity data or authenticated ownership data so that harmful behavior, platform abuse, spam, impersonation, or safety incidents can be investigated.

These records are not intended for public display and should only be accessed by authorized operational or moderation flows.

4. Sharing of information

HearMeo does not treat personal identity data as public content by default.

We may share information only when necessary for:

  • hosting, infrastructure, and service providers supporting platform operations
  • trust and safety investigations
  • legal or regulatory obligations
  • fraud, spam, impersonation, or abuse response

5. Retention and security

We retain data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate HearMeo, provide the service, support moderation and safety workflows, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes or abuse incidents.

HearMeo uses access controls, authentication, backend protection, moderation workflows, and operational safeguards to help protect sensitive records. No system can promise absolute security, but privacy and trust are part of our platform architecture.

6. Your choices

You may choose what you share, whether to post openly or anonymously where supported, and how you participate in communities.

Depending on feature availability, you may also edit profile details, remove your own content, manage account settings, or stop using the platform.
