It feels like if you’re not making extra money, you’re falling behind

Lately, I’ve been noticing how much the conversation around money has changed. It’s not just about having a job anymore. It’s about side hustles, investments, passive income, always finding new ways to earn more. And on one hand, it makes sense. People want security, freedom, better opportunities. But on the other hand, it feels like there’s this constant pressure to never just be… okay. Like if you’re not doing something extra, you’re somehow falling behind. I’ve tried getting into that mindset — learning about different ways to earn, thinking about what else I could be doing. But instead of feeling motivated, it often just makes me feel restless. Like whatever I’m doing right now isn’t enough. And I don’t even know what the finish line is supposed to look like. Because every time you reach a certain point, the expectation just shifts higher. I’m starting to wonder if this is ambition… or just pressure disguised as ambition. How do you even decide what “enough” looks like anymore?
