Small things at home started feeling staged… and then it stopped feeling like coincidence

It started with something that didn’t feel worth noticing.
A light in the opposite apartment that stayed on longer than usual. Curtains that were always slightly open at the same angle. A phone that seemed to be pointed in the same direction more often than not.
Nothing concrete. Nothing provable. Just details that quietly repeated.
At first, it felt like overthinking.
Then the patterns became harder to ignore.
The same neighbors would suddenly appear in shared spaces at oddly specific times. Conversations that should have been private somehow felt anticipated. Even small habits — the kind nobody pays attention to — started being mirrored in strange ways.
It wasn’t dramatic enough to confront.
But it was consistent enough to feel intentional.
One evening, a fragment of a conversation carried across the hallway. Not loud, not clear — just enough to catch a sentence that didn’t sit right.
“…that reaction was exactly what we needed.”
It could have meant anything. Probably nothing.
But from that point, something shifted.
Normal routines started feeling observed.
Not in an obvious, surveillance kind of way.
More like being part of something without being told.
The unsettling part wasn’t the idea of being watched.
It was the possibility of being interpreted.
Moments that felt personal suddenly carried a second layer — how they might look from the outside.
Even emotions started feeling… exposed.
Laughing felt self-aware. Silence felt noticeable. Even doing nothing started to feel like something being captured.
And once that awareness sets in, it doesn’t switch off easily.
Every interaction becomes a question.
Every coincidence starts looking like a setup.
The mind starts connecting dots that may or may not exist — and the worst part is not knowing where to draw the line.
Is it just heightened awareness?
Or something that actually crossed a boundary without permission?
Because there’s a difference between imagination…
and the moment it starts feeling real enough to affect how you live inside your own space.
And right now, home doesn’t feel like a place anymore.
It feels like a scene.
